What You Can Expect
Starting therapy can feel like stepping into the unknown. My goal is to make that first step feel a little steadier.
When you come in, you won’t be met with pressure or expectations. You won’t need to have the right words or a clear plan. This is a space where you can move at your own pace, and we’ll follow what feels most important to you.
Our work together will be collaborative. I won’t sit back silently or speak in clinical language that feels distant. I’ll be present with you. Curious, engaged, and focused on helping you make sense of what you’ve been carrying.
I use approaches like EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support healing from trauma, postpartum experiences, and sexual assault. But therapy isn’t just about techniques. It’s about creating a safe space where your experiences are honored, and your nervous system can begin to settle.
You can expect therapy to feel human. Some days may feel heavy. Others may feel relieving, clarifying, or even hopeful. Over time, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself again.
If you’re looking for counseling in Joplin, MO, the surrounding Missouri area, and also through telehealth, I’m here to walk alongside you without judgment and without asking you to be anything other than who you are.
